About

Hi!

I’m Will, better known online as The Nerdy Engineer. By day, I work as an Avionics Engineer in the aerospace industry, where precision, safety, and reliability aren’t optional—they’re built into every design decision. That background shapes how I approach all of my side projects: with an engineer’s mindset for problem-solving, testing, and constant iteration.

Outside of work, I have a passion for tinkering with electronics, microcontrollers, and robotics. I enjoy diving deep into protocols, sensors, and embedded systems, breaking down complex technical concepts into approachable guides that others can learn from.

One of my biggest interests is the development of self-driving vehicles. I experiment with GPS, IMUs, motor control, and sensor fusion, building small-scale autonomous platforms to test the same principles that guide larger systems in aerospace and automotive engineering.

Through The Nerdy Engineer, I share these experiments, lessons learned, and hands-on tutorials. My goal is to make advanced concepts in embedded systems, 3D Printing and robotics more accessible—whether you’re a student, a hobbyist, or a fellow engineer looking for practical insights.
